In Southeast Asia, pandan leaves are used to lend a unique taste and aroma to flavour desserts and drinks as well as to savour dishes. The aroma and flavour of the pandan plant is very unique and often described as a nutty leaf, being sweet, floral, and grassy all at once. When used in cocktails it comes up on the palate much later than everything else, adding a really nice aftertaste without overpowering the other ingredients.
Our liqueur named Bandoeng’22 has a well-balanced flavour of pandan combined with Asian herbs & spices. Bandoeng (current name Bandung) is a city on the island Java- Indonesia. In the twenties of the last Century the Art deco style, Jazz and cocktail parties were very popular in this city. Bandoeng’22 is a tribute to those good days!
The team behind Bandoeng’22 used their heritage and knowledge of the Indonesian cuisine to develop this special liqueur. We like to inspire bartenders all over the world to create new and exciting cocktails to pair with good Asian Food. And how about a Pandan Latte Macchiato, or a Pandan Panna cotta? This liqueur brings more possibilities than you would think!
